For centuries waist beads and decorative chains have been worn by women and men of many cultures. They are worn by belly dancers for traditional Arabic Dance. Egyptian waist-bands were worn by men.
African women wear waist beads to celebrate femininity, fertility, healing, spirituality, balancing and energy.
Chakras share many of these aspects—balance, healing, love, sexuality, courage, self discipline, creativity, and enlightenment.
